Nearly every modern laptop now charges through USB-C — and these ports are soldered directly to the motherboard with dozens of fine-pitch connections. Replacing one properly requires professional micro-soldering equipment and experience. That's exactly what we do, every day, for all brands including MacBook, Dell XPS, HP Spectre and ThinkPad.
Many premium ultrabooks — Dell XPS, MacBook Pro, HP Spectre and others — carry two USB-C ports, and when one fails the second often isn't far behind. We replace both ports in a single service at a bundled rate, so your laptop leaves with two fresh, fully tested ports.
When a port is ripped out or burned, it can take the copper traces and pads on the motherboard with it. Most shops call this unrepairable — we don't. We rebuild the damaged pads and traces at the board level, then install the new jack. One flat rate covers the complete board repair and port replacement.

How long does a charging port replacement take?

Can a broken USB-C port be fixed, or do I need a new motherboard?
In almost every case the port itself can be replaced with micro-soldering — you do not need a new motherboard. Even when the port has ripped pads or damaged traces off the board, we rebuild them at the board level for a flat $175 including the new jack.
